Premises Environmental Liability For Portfolios
In addition to our stand-alone site pollution policy, Great American has the knowledge and capability to write site pollution for both small and large portfolios. Similar to our stand-alone PRE, this product is designed for insureds that own, lease, maintain, operate, develop or have a financial interest in a covered location. Target businesses for our site policies include, but are not limited to:
- Light industrial facilities
- Colleges/universities
- Warehouses
- Petroleum and chemical storage
- Manufacturing
- Healthcare
- Commercial and residential real estate
Coverage for our portfolio policies mirrors that of our stand-alone site policies. If you have an Insured who has many covered locations, it may be more cost effective to add them to the same policy, sharing their limits. This may also be a good option if you have an insured who plans on acquiring properties throughout the policy term. Adding and divesting properties becomes a quick and easy process with our Portfolio Site policies. By endorsing these policies with our “Coverage for Newly Acquired Locations Endorsement”, we can agree on pre-set rates and guidelines to be able to efficiently service our accounts.
Portfolios can be very time consuming, making it difficult to complete the underwriting process in the allotted timeframe. However, Great American is able to review multiple environmental reports with the help of our Technical/Engineering team. With this collaborative effort, we are able to turn quotes around quicker for these larger portfolio accounts. Additionally, we have the ability to creatively underwrite specific risks. With the help of our Legal team, we are able to develop policy language specific to the intended pollution coverage. This becomes important when you have multiple covered locations with many different exposures. We can manuscript endorsements, making them “location specific”, which allows the “cleaner” sites to obtain broader pollution coverage.
