National Interstate Insurance Company Wins 2025 Top Workplaces USA Award

RICHFIELD, OH - March 24, 2025 - National Interstate Insurance Company (“National Interstate”), and its wholly-owned subsidiary Vanliner Insurance Company, are pleased to announce that they have been named one of the 2025 Top Workplaces USA award recipients. National Interstate ranked within the top 20% of companies in the category of companies with 500-999 employees. This marks the first time the company has received the Top Workplaces USA recognition.

National Interstate also won first place for large company workplaces in Northeast Ohio in The Plain Dealer and Cleveland.com 2024 Top Workplace competition. The company has earned Top Workplace Northeast Ohio awards for nine consecutive years.

Founded in 1989, National Interstate is a leading specialty property and casualty insurance company, focused primarily on commercial transportation industries and currently employs more than 800 insurance professionals.

“To be recognized locally, and now nationally, as a top workplace is a remarkable honor,” said Shawn Los, President and Chief Operating Officer, National Interstate. “We are proud of our people and their daily contributions to making National Interstate a great place to work. Building a strong internal culture helps our customers, employees, community and company thrive, and I am grateful to be a part of it.”

Top Workplaces USA celebrates organizations with 150 or more employees that have built great cultures. More than 42,000 organizations were invited to participate in the Top Workplaces USA survey. Winners were chosen based solely on employee feedback gathered through an employee engagement survey conducted by Energage.

“Earning a Top Workplaces award is a badge of honor for companies, especially because it comes authentically from their employees,” said Eric Rubino, Energage CEO. “That's something to be proud of. In today's market, leaders must ensure they’re allowing employees to have a voice and be heard. That's paramount. Top Workplaces do this, and it pays dividends.”
