Networking around Brownfields: BCONE Trends in Redevelopment
Great American Environmental is dedicated to seeking opportunities to further educate and expand their expertise on the latest industry trends. Recently, Guy Sheets and Randy Copenhaver had the pleasure of attending the Brownfield Coalition of the Northeast’s (BCONE) Trends in Brownfield Redevelopment 2022 event.
Hosted at Unionville Vineyards, this annual event allows thought leaders to speak on projects that are evolving environmental litigation and industry trends, while providing a handful of networking opportunities with large-scale Brownfield redevelopers, insurance carriers and consultants. The goal of the event is to promote and cultivate conversation surrounding environmental topics in order to develop an atmosphere of education and networking.
Panel topics covered included Hoboken Brownstone’s groundbreaking sustainable transformation of an abandoned mall in New Jersey, President Biden’s recent bipartisan investment into the EPA’s Brownfield program to encourage sustainable behaviors in urban and rural communities, and the pressing issue of the Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) movement and its impact on future business prospects.
“It was a great event to reconnect with Brownfield developers and gain industry insight from presentations. We were able to share information afterwards with both developers to further enhance our relationships.”
– Guy Sheets, Production Underwriting Specialist
