The mission of museums revolves around the preservation of cultural property and serving the public. With this in mind, we have designed a museum form that provides comprehensive coverage which doesn’t require appraisals, inventories or reporting. This policy form also includes a definition of covered property which is broad enough to cover almost anything that can be considered part of the collection.
We also recognize that sharing cultural property with other institutions is essential to most museums. Therefore, we have limited the exclusions on the policy to a handful of perils. When our insured agrees to cover a borrowed object, they can be sure of the coverage they have promised to the lender.
